Don’t Let It Break You, Honey

Description

The gripping, investigative memoir longlisted for the 2026 Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction.

At 18, Jenny Evans was cast in a cult film and stood on the brink of stardom. But after surviving assault by a high-profile public figure, her life changed forever. When she reported the crime, her private police file was illegally leaked to a tabloid newspaper just four days later.

Devastated but determined, Jenny trained as an investigative journalist to uncover how her privacy was stolen. Her personal quest for answers led her to The Guardian, where her research helped expose the historic UK phone-hacking scandal and widespread police-media corruption.

Don’t Let It Break You, Honey is a fierce, unforgettable story of structural power, systemic betrayal, and one woman’s journey to reclaim her narrative and fight for justice from the inside out.
